Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup ground almonds
  • 2 tablespoons matcha (green tea powder)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup white baking chips

Instructions

  1. 1 Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a greased 13x9-inch pan with parchment paper, letting the ends extend up the sides. Grease the parchment paper.
  2. 2 In a large bowl, mix the butter, brown sugar and vanilla until they're blended. Add the eggs, one at a time, whisking to blend after each addition.
  3. 3 In another bowl, mix the flour, ground almonds, matcha, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Stir the dry ingredients mixture into the butter mixture. Fold in the white baking chips.
  4. 4 Spread the batter into the prepared pan. Bake it until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 30 to 35 minutes (do not overbake it). Cool the brownie completely in the pan on a wire rack. Lifting with the parchment, remove the brownie from the pan and cut it into bars.
