Ingredients
- 10 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3 large eggs, room temperature
- 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 medium ripe bananas, mashed
- 2-1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1-1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup whole or 2% milk
- 1 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- 1 Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 13x9-inch baking dish. In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream the butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, two to three minutes. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until incorporated. Mix in the mashed bananas.
- 2 In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Mix the flour mixture into the creamed mixture alternately with the milk in three portions until the batter is smooth. Stir in 2/3 cup mini chocolate chips. Editor's Tip: Don't want chocolate chips on top of the cake? Feel free to stir the full cup into the batter.
- 3 Transfer the batter to the prepared cake pan. Sprinkle with the remaining mini chocolate chips. Bake the cake until the tester inserted in the center comes out clean, 34 to 38 minutes. Let cool completely on a wire rack.
